BCP has added an additional option to their range of finishes, with the ability to print graphics directly onto the aluminium skin’s surface. With the direct print surface finish, panels can either be completely covered or left transparent in areas allowing the aluminium to remain visible and producing a striking effect.
BCP’s aluminium composite panels comprise of honeycomb core sandwiched in between two aluminium alloy skins. The panels are manufactured with a high mill finish as standard, but can also be supplied in tread pattern, polished or coloured for a range of uses, such as a feature wall.
BCP has been manufacturing composite panels, lightweight and strong structures, since 1988. They are used in a wide variety of applications, in the rail, marine, architectural, industrial and printing sectors to save on weight, cost and materials.
Direct Print for Feature Wall
The direct print surface finish can be used to form a feature wall allowing a company to creatively display their history, location, logo or photographs. The wall may be in an office, reception, shop or even a Formula 1 pit garage. Due to their honeycomb structure, aluminium composite panels have the added advantage of offering good soundproofing properties and insulation.
BCP manufactured seven aluminium composite panels measuring 1259mm x 1214mm in size for use as a feature wall on a cruise ship. They were printed with a world map and model ships in bottles were mounted on the front by a company called Premier Ship Models. The panels included reinforced corners with 90-degree angles so they could be assembled without any visible joins or marks in order to create one large impactful display.
Printed Partitions
As well as entire walls, the panels work equally well as partitions as they can be cut to any shape or size using BCP’s in-house CNC routers. Curved panels can also be created, although in this case the print is applied to a vinyl rather than direct to the aluminium.
BCP prides itself on coming up with solutions to complex requirements. Our team of engineering experts will develop innovative ways to supply flat or curved panels to a client’s specification.
